MEET THE AUTHOR
Jan Hill
Jan Hill is the mother of three sons, a cat named Cleo, and a Golden Retriever named Harley. She has a vivid imagination
and loves to weave adventures. The more outlandish the adventure, the better she likes it. Much of the story weaving has been
done setting up Dungeons and Dragons quests for her children and their friends.
OTHER HOBBIES:
Jan loves reading (lots of reading) with favorite genres being fantasy and sci-fi. She dabbles in art a bit, but has a long way to go
to say she's an artist. Computers have long been an interest(fixing and using them). She was on the scene when the first home computer
made its debut. She quickly caught on to simple programming. Jan's artistic ability comes in cake decorating. She has done everything
from a Big Bird cupcake tray to three-tiered wedding cakes. Her favorite collection is her doll collection. She has thirty-four dolls in
vinyl and porcelain across almost as many topics.
ON WRITING:
Jan has been creating worlds and story lines since she was 13. While she cringes at some of her early
writing, she has worked to hone her skills. She loves creating off-the-wall characters. "Asteria: The Discovery"
was originally written for her son Jordon when he was in 7th grade. Being a slow reader, Jordon refused to read. As a result he was failing
7th grade English. Jan set about to write a story about Jordon and his best friend Jeremy. Why? Every child likes to read about himself,
doesn't he? A short time later, the first draft of Asteria was completed, and Jordon couldn't put it down.
Since that time, Asteria has brightened the minds of many individuals from 10 to 32. For some, it has opened an entirely new
genre for their entertainment. Jan has written two more volumes of Asteria, and she
is currently working on a fourth.
